The Nokia N85 is one of the latest models from Nokia, that has actually been launched in the UK.

It is the upgrade to the very successful Nokia N96.

There is a larger 2.6 inch screen that has great resolution. Nokia have also tweaked the screen a little which makes it super easy to read while outside in the Sun. The The size of the Nokia N85 is 103mm x 50mm x 16mm, which isn’t small, but it isn’t huge either, and with a weight of 128g, you will feel it in your pocket. However, this is a smartphone, so think of it more as a tiny laptop, instead of a large mobile phone.

There is no qwerty keyboard, but it does have a slide out number pad, with good sized-buttons.

The Nokia N85 camera is awesome, in true Nokia Style. It has a 5 mega pixel camera with 20x digital zoom. There is also carl zeiss optics, tessar lens, autofocus and dual led flash – beat that. Don’t forget the Nokia N85 can also take videos of the highest quality and includes video and photo editing software.

There is a great music player, which supports almost all of the popular formats including MP3, WMN, AAC, eAAC etc. It also has plenty of memory with 74mn of internal memory, 78mb of flash, and a memory card slot. There is also a fm radio and the ability to use and customise ringtones.

The Nokia N85 was of course not just made to make phone calls and send messages. It has a myriad of other applications and uses too. These include a web browser that supports HTML, XHTML, WAP, and CSS formats. It also comes with Nokia Mini Map and Nokia Mobile Search.

Throw in some awesome apps such as Adobe Flash lite, Nokia Maps, Zip Manager, Quickoffice etc., and this phone becomes so much more.

Overall the Nokia N85 is a great phone. Is should be looked at though as so much more than this, as its applications and processing power make it possible to do some truly amazing things. It is for all intensive purposes, a highly portable laptop.
